2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The C-Class, one of Mercedes-Benz most successful models, has been refreshed for 2019. Although it looks mostly the same on the outside, significant changes have been made under the 2019 C-Class Mercede-Benz skin. These include a stronger engine and more technical features.

Trim Levels

The 2019 Base C-Class comes in either a four-door Base, two-door Coupe, or two-door Cabriolet trim. Each trim comes with either a rear-wheel or all-wheel 4MATIC® option. The C-Class AMG® C 43 comes in Sedan, Coupe, and Convertible.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class engine

Engine

The 2019 C 300 model uses a nine-speed automatic 2-liter four-cylinder engine. The AMG® C 43 comes in a nine-speed automatic powered by a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine.

Performance

Under the hood, the most significant change to the 2019 engine is that the 2-liter inline-four engine is up from 241 to 255 horsepower. Torque remains at 273 pound-feet. AMG® C 43 offers 384 pound-feet of torque and 385 horsepower, which is up by 23. With the AMG® C 43, you can expect a 0-60 mph time of about 4.5 seconds. The direct injection and multi-spark ignition self-tunes in milliseconds, creating better performance while using less fuel. The increase in horsepower is due to how the twin-scroll turbocharger twists on. Two cylinders divide exhaust gases, providing an even flow of air.

Interior

Inside, the changes are even more obvious. The 2019 C-Class has a standard 7-inch infotainment screen, with a 10.3-inch screen as an optional add-on. Set between the round analog gauges in the instrument cluster is the 5.5-inch color display. The top-of-the-line trims offer a fully digital 12.3-inch panel. The standard cabin now offers a choice of gray/black upholstery with three wood trimming options. The new 2019 C-Class now comes with Mercedes-Benz’s leather-wrapped steering wheel, which has touch-sensitive pads to control the two screens. The new swiping function allows drivers to control functions on both the infotainment system and the instrument cluster without letting go of the steering wheel. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard in all C-Class vehicles, allowing for smartphone integration.

2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class safety features

Safety Features

The camera and radar systems in the 2019 C-Class have a larger range to facilitate a better reaction in changing conditions. The cruise control system makes use of map data to slow the vehicle down when approaching a corner, and then to accelerate when the road straightens. An active emergency stop system is automatically activated if the driver does not respond to the alerts. This slows the vehicle down and activates the hazard lights. The Mercedes Me phone app includes functions such as remote start and has an extra notification to alert you if your C-Class is damaged while parked. This system can even send you a photo of the vehicle that damaged your C-Class. For obvious reasons, this feature will be subject to privacy laws and regulations. Whether you chose the luxurious 2019 C 300 or the racy AMG® C 43, your choice will deliver driving satisfaction, luxury, and a big dose of style.
