The Goodman-LeGrand House was originally built in 1859 on a nine-acre parcel. The home changed hands twice by 1866, but subsequently remained in the Goodman family for 73 years through four generations. In 1939, the family’s last direct heir to live in the home passed away, bequeathing the home to the City of Tyler for historic preservation. Today, the home and gardens are both open for tours and special events.
