What Is Roadside Assistance?

Mercedes-Benz’s Roadside Assistance is a program that provides round-the-clock help to drivers who experience unexpected vehicle problems while on the road. The program offers a range of benefits to Mercedes-Benz owners, including:

What Services Does Roadside Assistance Cover?

As a Mercedes-Benz owner, it’s important to know the range of services included in your vehicle’s Roadside Assistance package. This can help you prepare for any situation that may arise while you’re driving. There are two broad service categories in this program: towing and soft services. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect from Roadside Assistance:

Towing

In the unfortunate event that your vehicle cannot be safely driven and is immobile due to a breakdown, accident, or another unforeseen issue, professionals will tow your vehicle to the nearest authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. Experienced towing operators handle the transportation process with care and expertise, ensuring a seamless process from the incident scene to the dealer location.

This service is free, provided that any services or repairs necessary to get your car running again happen at the dealership you have the vehicle towed to. If not, Mercedes-Benz will apply a $150 fee to cover the transportation cost. The towing service offered under Roadside Assistance gives you peace of mind and the confidence that your vehicle is in capable hands during a stressful situation.

Soft Services

These encompass services designed to address minor vehicle issues resolvable without the need for towing or extensive repairs. Once you request help, Mercedes-Benz will dispatch highly trained technicians to your location so you can get back on the road with minimal delay. Soft services include the following:

  • Flat tire service.
  • Jump start service.
  • Fuel delivery.
  • Lockout service.

It’s important to note that these services aren’t always available. For example, if you have an electric vehicle, fuel delivery and jump-start services aren’t applicable. Further, unless you have a currentmbrace® account, you’ll have to pay for the lockout service every time you use it.

Trip Interruption

This program reimburses expenses that you incur due to disrupted travel plans caused by a breakdown or accident rendering your Mercedes-Benz inoperable. Eligible expenses include lodging, meals, and alternative transportation while you wait for repairs to your vehicle. The reimbursement cap is set at $300 per day for a maximum of three days, ensuring that you can continue your journey with minimal disruptions.

You must meet several conditions before you can qualify for trip interruption reimbursement. First, the incident must occur more than 100 miles from your primary residence, and the necessary repairs must take longer than 24 hours to complete. Additionally, this benefit applies only to Mercedes-Benz vehicles that are still under warranty.

Who Is Eligible for Roadside Assistance?

You must also meet certain conditions for your vehicle to be eligible for the Roadside Assistance program. First and foremost, it must be a Mercedes-Benz. Other than that, you can enjoy complimentary Roadside Assistance if you meet any of these conditions:

  • Your vehicle is still under a new vehicle limited warranty, extended limited warranty, or certified pre-owned warranty.
  • You purchased your vehicle before Jan. 4, 2011, from an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership, and you’re still the owner.

How To Request Roadside Assistance

Mercedes-Benz has made it easy for you to get help when you need it. Here are the three ways you can request Roadside Assistance:

By Phone

Call 1-800-367-6372 to request service. They’ll ask you for your name, phone number, and location, as well as your car’s vehicle identification number, model, year, and color. You’ll also need to describe the problem you’re experiencing.

Through the Mercedes Me App

If you have this app on your smartphone, simply open it and answer a few questions about your situation. Then, select the “Roadside Assistance” button to request service. If you don’t have the app, you can download it for free from the Google Play Store or Apple Store.

Using Mbrace

You can easily ask for assistance if you’re an activembrace® subscriber and your vehicle has this technology. Pressing the wrench button located on the overhead console or the armrest will immediately connect you to an agent who can dispatch the appropriate personnel to take care of your problem.
