Exterior

The 2023 Mercedes EQS features a more traditional SUV body style with a long hood, short overhangs, and a sloping roofline. The front of the vehicle is dominated by a large blacked-out grille that’s flanked by slim LED headlights. The rear of the vehicle features a full-width light bar that connects the taillights, giving it an unmistakable presence on the road.

The 2023 BMW iX has a more futuristic design, showcasing sharp and angular lines throughout the body. The front of the vehicle features BMW’s signature kidney grille, which is larger than previous models and extends all the way to the headlights. Meanwhile, the EQS 450+ uses a 108.4 kWh battery pack and two electric motors to produce 355 hp and 419 lb-ft of torque. This lets you travel a maximum of 305 miles.

This doesn’t mean, though, that the Mercedes EQS SUV isn’t a powerhouse. With the generous number of trims available, you can easily choose an EQS trim that generates plenty of power, such as the 580 4MATIC®, which delivers a maximum of 536 hp.

Cargo and Passenger Volume

The 2023 BMW iX has a slight advantage over the 2023 Mercedes EQS SUV in terms of cargo volume. It has a maximum of 77.9 cubic feet of space compared to the latter’s 74 cubic feet. However, the EQS SUV offers third-row seats, besting the iX when comparing passenger volume.
