Best Brunch in Tyler, TX

April 27th, 2023 by

If you love to spend your mornings relaxing, chatting with friends or family, and catching up on the events of the week, you might be a brunch person — just like us. And if you’re new to Tyler, Texas, or the brunch world, you may need some tips on where to find your morning meal. The team at Mercedes-Benz of Tyler can recommend these five restaurants in the area with brunch-specific menus for you to enjoy.

Kiepersol

Kiepersol, Tripadvisor’s #1 restaurant in Tyler, Texas, is the ultimate brunch spot for those who love rustic surroundings, wine, and gourmet food. This family-owned food, wine, and spirits destination opened its doors in 1985 and is located on a beautiful farm 17 minutes from downtown.

If the name of the restaurant sounds foreign to you, it is because this is a place in South Africa — the country where Pierre de Wet, the restaurant’s founder, was born. The word Kiepersol is a mondegreen and means “we hope the tree will keep us all”. When Mr. Wet named the restaurant, he wanted to give his customers the same sense of security and comfort that the word brings to South Africans.

As for the menu, they have a classic and timeless take on popular dishes. Some of the options include their version of egg benedict, fish & chips, Caesars salad, and chicken Kiepersol. Pair your order with more than 10 different types of in-house, award-winning wine, such as the 2019 Barrel No. 33 Texas Wish or the 2021 Kiepersol Steen Reserve.

The Grove Kitchen & Gardens

The Grove Kitchen & Gardens  offers the perfect farm-to-table brunch experience. This beautiful farm and restaurant is located in the heart of Tyler, so you don’t have to leave town to relax and enjoy nature. If you’re looking for unique, thoughtfully created dishes, this restaurant offers a menu full of local and regional flavors that highlight and promote our gastronomy. The Grove Kitchen & Gardens is also a venue for entertainment, live music, and special events.

The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining, so you can choose your seating to suit your mood and personality. Indoor brunch is perfect for those who like to eat in an upscale environment with a great atmosphere, while outdoor brunch is more for the laid-back, nature-loving type.

The brunch menu is divided into four categories: Shared Starters, Soups, From the Garden, and Entrees. Pick some Shared Starters and let everyone have a taste of four delectable dishes: Sola Avocado Toast, Maple Candied Smoked Bacon, Biscuits and Gravy, and Bananas Foster French Toast.

The Soup category offers three options: Smoked Tomato Soup, Roasted Poblano Soup, and Soup of the Day. As the name suggests, when you choose something From the Garden, you’ll enjoy a meal made with freshly harvested ingredients from the farm. Choose from The Homestead, Watermelon & Cucumber Salad, Baby Kale Caesar, and Mexican Cobb Stack. Lastly, the Entrees section features over 10 dishes, including Shrimp & Grits, East Texas Breakfast, Chicken Fried Steak, Brisket Tacos, and a House-Made Granola Bowl.

Villaggio del Vino

If you’re craving authentic Italian food for brunch, Villagio del Vino is the place to go. This award-winning restaurant is known as Tyler’s most stylish wine and pizza bistro. They serve modern Italian comfort food and a wide selection of beverages to please every palate. Whether you choose to enjoy brunch indoors or on the outdoor patio, you’ll be surrounded by stylish decor and a vibrant atmosphere.

The restaurant is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., but keep in mind that brunch is only served from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The brunch menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. The menu is divided into six categories: Antipasto e Insalata, Piatti Principali, Wood-Fired Pizza, Pasta, Bevande per il Brunch, and Contori e Insalata.

The Piatti Principali, meaning main dishes, offers choices including French Toast, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Pizza, Avocado Toast, and Prosciutto Eggs Benedict. Check out the Antipasto e Insalata section when you want a starter or salad, such as the Bruschetta, Golden Beet Salad, Classic Italian Meatballs, or Crab and Avocado. Rich and decadent pasta options include Lobster Ravioli, Spinach and Cheese Ravioli, and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo.

Of course, you can’t forget the pizza lovers who have five options to choose from: Margherita, Prosciutto and Fig, Double Pepperoni, Goddess, and Pistachio con Salsiccia. Beverage options include French press coffee, mimosas, juice, and cocktails.

1948 Coffee & Juice

1948 Coffee & Juice takes pride in serving local, organic ingredients with a wide variety of vegan and gluten-free options. Before the restaurant opened, it was a coffee-only shop. Then, as customers demanded food to go with their coffee, they created a carefully curated menu perfect for brunch or a quick stop. The restaurant now has new owners, but they’re committed to continuing the original mission: to provide locals with the highest quality coffee, food, and organic juices.

They have two menus available: one for coffee and one for food. When you’re in the mood for a hot beverage, you can opt for an espresso, latte, mocha, chai, or Americano. However, if the Texas heat has you craving something cold, an iced latte or iced Americano will hit the spot. Specialty coffee blends have quirky names such as The Vintage Peddler, Brick Grind, and The 1948.

Delicious and flavorful meal options include items such as a Beyond Burger Bowl, a Hummus & Pita Bowl, Kale Caesar Salad, Little Gem Wedge Salad, Naan Pizza, and Tomato Caprese Panini. Don’t forget to try one of their picture-perfect smoothie bowls, such as the Blue Monster or Chunky Monkey.

There you have it, four great places to go for brunch. We hope you try at least one of these restaurants, especially now that Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Any mom would delight in being treated to brunch on her special day. Spend time with the ones you love while enjoying a delicious meal, and show your mom how much you care.
