The Tyler Independent School District owns and operates the Caldwell Auditorium (300 S College Ave). Still, the venue is available for other organizations to rent when it doesn’t interfere with campus or district activities. The auditorium seats nearly 1,800 and offers free WiFi for an outstanding guest experience.

The venue offers quality acoustics and lighting, including following spotlights. The auditorium is equipped with a grand piano as well, so it’s well prepared for a variety of musical performances.

Cowan Center

The University of Texas at Tyler’s Cowan Center (3900 University Blvd) is an outstanding venue that seats over 2,000 guests. The stunning theater hosts world-class performers, award-winning Broadway musicals, and more. Liberty Hall (103 E. Erwin) is an intimate music venue with seating for 300. Owned and operated by the city of Tyler, Liberty Hall hosts live music as well as comedians and classic films. The historic theater initially opened in 1930 but has since undergone a thorough renovation, keeping the venue sleek and modern.

Tyler Civic Theatre Center

The Tyler Civic Theatre Center (400 Rose Park Drive) was constructed in 1939 to give the Tyler Little Theater a permanent home. The theater previously performed on a platform at the high school and a stage in the Women’s Building. The Civic Theater Center closed temporarily during WWII but reopened in 1949. Al Gilliam took on the role of the theater’s first resident director and constructed the first building in the nation designed specifically for in-the-round performances to accommodate the revived Tyler Civic Theater.

This building was converted to the Roger’s Center for children’s theater in 2000. It holds up to 130 guests and hosts acting classes for participants of all ages, from preschoolers to adults.

The Tyler Civic Center Theater moved into the Braithwaite Theater in 2000. This larger venue can accommodate 350 guests. Though the venue focuses on theatrical performances, many of these are musicals that will give you a generous dose of music on stage. In 2022, you can see musicals like “Sister Act” and “The Spongebob Musical.”

Bergfield Park Amphitheater

Bergfield Park (1510 S College Ave) is a gem for outdoor activities featuring a playground, splash pad, tennis courts, picnic areas, and a stunning amphitheater. The amphitheater can accommodate up to 750 people for outdoor concerts.

A 2021 renovation project replaced the amphitheater’s seating with a riser system for chairs and soft turf for lawn seating. The amphitheater was also renovated with smooth metal panels and decorative trellises, giving it an updated appearance that blends beautifully with the surrounding park. The amphitheater typically hosts multiple performances a month.

Country River Club

The Country River Club (13987 US-271) is both a bar and a live music venue, offering a 40,000-square-foot space that provides plenty of space for grooving to your favorite tunes. The venue has four dance floors and three DJs delivering a variety of music. Rock out to hip-hop, country music, Latin music, or pop, depending on your mood.

Thursday nights at Country River Club are college nights. On Fridays, you’ll find themed nights or live bands. Honkytonk Saturdays bring lively line dancing to the floor. Lago Del Pino is a full-service restaurant serving a delicious selection of Mexican appetizers and mains like pozole, tortilla soup, carne asada, chile-lime chicken, enchiladas, fajitas, and street tacos.

The restaurant also hosts live music from both local and regional artists on Friday and Saturday nights. You can catch a diverse range of styles, including rock, pop, jazz, country, Latin, and R&B. Guests must be 21 or older to listen to live music after 9 p.m. on Fridays and 10 p.m. on Saturdays.
