The Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV is the largest and most luxurious SUV in the lineup, with the highest standard seating available for seven adults. It’s also the only SUV in the lineup with standard 4MATIC® fully variable all-wheel drive, making it an excellent choice for families who want the added peace of mind of all-wheel drive. Under the hood, the GLS SUV has a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo engine with EQ Boost that delivers 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.

The GLS SUV comes standard with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, which uses artificial intelligence to learn your preferences and make suggestions for music, navigation, and more. A 12.3-inch high-resolution touch screen, voice control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration are also standard. The AMG® GLS SUV is the performance-tuned version of the GLS SUV, with a more powerful engine and a sportier air suspension. Under the hood, the AMG® GLS SUV has a 4.0-liter AMG® V-8 bi-turbo engine that delivers 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque thanks to 48-volt mild hybrid technology. That power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. The AMG® GLS SUV can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in a quick 3.6 seconds.

Creature comforts abound in the AMG® GLS SUV, with standard features that include two 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system, a Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, and Mercedes-Benz’s new MBUX interface with voice control and artificial intelligence. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are standard, as is a panoramic sunroof and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

As for the interior, the AMG® GLS SUV is gorgeously appointed with premium materials such as soft leather upholstery, genuine wood trim, and tastefully applied chrome. The SUV also has a rich-looking metallic finish on the center console, buttons, knobs, and door panels. The front seats are heated and ventilated, while the second-row seats are heated. Commonly dubbed the “Goldilocks” SUV of the Mercedes-Benz lineup, the GLE SUV commands attention with its stylish good looks and state-of-the-art features. Yet, it’s still small enough to be manageable in tight city spaces.

Models with the GLE 350 badge have a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine that makes 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, while the GLE 450 has a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with EQ Boost that makes 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Stepping up to the AMG® GLE 53 gets you a 429-horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, while the top-of-the-line AMG® GLE 80 has a 504-horsepower 4.0-liter bi-turbo V-8. All engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The GLE SUV has plenty of standard features, including LED headlights and taillights, 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, a 12.3-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering-wheel touch-control buttons, power tilt/sliding sunroof, inductive wireless charging with near field communication pairing, and voice control with natural language understanding. The GLE SUV also has many safety features, including standard driver-assistance systems such as active brake assist, ATTENTION ASSIST®, and crosswind assist.

Inside the GLE SUV, you’ll find plenty of space and comfort with standard seating for five. The optional third row raises the capacity to seven.
