New Features of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE

SUVs have largely replaced sedans as the most popular vehicles in the luxury segment. Changes in 2025

The Mercedes-Benz GLE’s current generation received a major update in 2024. Some of its highlights include a plug-in hybrid powertrain, an updated design, and a better-optimized powertrain for the AMG® version, which produces more torque. The upcoming 2025 model will probably keep the same luxurious style, with high-quality materials used throughout the interior and cutting-edge safety and infotainment technology.

Specs & Trims

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE will probably have roughly the same specs and trim levels as the 2024 version, but a few minor tweaks are still possible. The available trims will be:

GLE 350

While basic trims usually lack some important features on other vehicles, that’s certainly not the case for the GLE. It comes with a powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates up to 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It’s helped by a mild hybrid system and comes with standard all-wheel drive. While it usually comes with seating for up to five passengers, if you need two extra seats you can choose the third-row option.

The standard GLE version also comes with a long list of features designed to improve looks, comfort, connectivity, safety, and driving pleasure. These include 19-inch alloy wheels, a power liftgate, power-adjustable and heated front seats, special Mercedes-Benz MB-Tex upholstery, a digital instrument panel, and a sunroof. It also comes with all the infotainment features you’ll need, including a large 12.3-inch touchscreen interface with an integrated navigation system, wireless smartphone charging, and seamless smartphone connectivity through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

GLE 450 and GLE 450e

The GLE 450 trim has all the same features as the GLE 350 but comes with a more powerful engine. The turbocharged six-cylinder has a power output of 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. If you’re looking for more power and better fuel economy, the GLE 450e will certainly deliver. It pairs a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a hybrid system to produce a total output of 381 horsepower. Besides greatly reducing fuel consumption, the GLE 450e can run solely on its electric motor for up to 60 miles on a single charge.

GLE 580

This next trim comes with luxury and performance-oriented improvements. It’s powered by a turbocharged V-8 engine that can generate up to 483 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Another major addition is the adaptive air suspension system, which automatically adjusts its stiffness to make the 2025 GLE more comfortable while cruising, but also enhances its stability and handling at higher speeds. The GLE 580 also gets a styling refresh, due to the AMG® Line styling package and 20-inch wheels. The interior updates include ventilated front seats, augmented-reality navigation features, and a premium Burmester audio system.

AMG® GLE 53 and AMG® GLE 63 S

The Mercedes-Benz AMG® line is focused on performance and the 2025 GLE makes no exception to this rule. The AMG® GLE 53’s turbocharged six-cylinder engine produces up to 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. It also features an upgraded braking system, leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunro

The AMG® GLE 63 S has an even more powerful engine, a V-8 with an output of no less than 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Other enhancements include an electronic limited-slip differential that improves traction, larger 21-inch wheels, an air purification system, a head-up display, plus ventilation and massage functions for the front seats.

Extra Feature Packages

There are also separate options packages that you can select for the 2025 GLE, based on your specific needs. For instance, the Warmth and Comfort package is ideal for those living in colder climates, as it includes rapid-heating front seats and heated front armrests. Other features you can add include third-row seats, premium leather upholstery, heated rear seats, a trailer hitch with a trailering maneuver assist system, and power soft-closing doors.

Safety Features and Dimensions

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE will have the same generous dimensions as last year’s model. It’s almost 195 inches long and 77 inches wide, with 56 cubic feet of passenger space in the front row and 51 cubic feet of space in the second row. It also has 33 cubic feet of cargo space, which can be extended to 75 cubic feet by folding down the second row of seats. These are excellent numbers for a luxury-oriented SUV.

As you would expect from a high-end vehicle, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE will also feature a long list of advanced safety systems designed to keep everyone inside as safe as possible on their journeys. All GLE models will come with forward collision warning with automatic braking, blind-spot warning, and a surround-view camera that gives you a top-down view of your vehicle.
